Somewhat inspired by watching LakeHylias stream last night. wont go into details but he knows what im talking about. Decided to make a picture showing Blacks and Rachels love for one another. As my friend Sheta1 suggested, it DOES look great with a lot of detail. Just wish i knew how to make pictures more detailed. Ah well, working on it. I thought i did pretty good on the rain as well. You can also see both of them actually wet. Critiques are strongly appreciated. worked hard on this pic.
Hey there again! Golly I do nitpick your work a lot. Hehe, but this is by your request, so let's not waste time.
In each picture I see you pushin' a little harder, effort wise. This is a very good thing to do! It gives impressive results, but a good tip is to first map out the picture, and focus more on accuracy before putting in the special effects. Just that bit of extra effort alone will make your work explode.
First thing that hits the eye is Black's head. His skull is disproportionate. It's a pretty easy mistake, but keep an eye on it! The back of the skull actually extends a lot farther back. Glance through a few google images or even DA stock of skulls, and then look at some bald dudes! (Or chicks. Hey, there are some. )
Secondly, Black's hand, upper one holding her back looks much smaller than the other right next to it. It also just looks a bit small in general. Remember to step away from your picture and look over it a few times before finishing. We miss things very easily if we just rush to put it up (Guilty as charged here! )
Rachel's back also seems to poke out just a tad too much. Neck/Back relationship I think. Maybe extend where her neck meets her back a bit, if that makes sense. If not, i'll draw an example in Yahoo for ya.
That's it for the nitpicking!
I'm actually very impressed by Black's arm. The muscles look spot on! It's good to have that knowledge! Be sure to study the areas you're a bit behind on.
The effects are beautiful in this. The coloring looks painted (Dur, Sky, digi painting! Haha), and the rain is smooth, and not glaringly in the face of the viewer. The small driplets of rain on the skin and small taps of raindrops hitting impress as well. Attention to little details like that can collectively put more impact in a pic.
Woo! Sorry for the huge critique, but continue to work hard, study up, and wow everyone with your next piece.
My first critique ^_^ Whats to say that's already been said? It simply looks and feels like you put a lot of thought and time into this. Probably the part that puts an emphasis on "passionate" is the lightning. I'm not a professional in capturing the mood, but my guess is that the darker colors/ shading is what leads to work having a serious feel. This seems to be a step in the direction that you're trying to work on. I'm definitely looking forward to more great pics like this, man, because this is one of the best in your gallery!
